Miss Fiona (Head of Beaconsfield of Dance), asked if I would help out with her adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. At first I thought that I would design and print the tickets and programmes – but I ended up creating the video backdrops for the production. The subject of “Alice” and that it was a performing art freed me form tight conventions of a corporate environment, we were free to reimagine the world in which Alice, the White Rabbit the Queen of Hearts and the rest of the company danced through.

It was challenging brief to create this world, as you had to imaging the cast dancing in front of the video – the video needed to add to the show, not steal the show. The other technical challenges were making sure that the whole video production would be able to pause between scenes – without the audience noticing, to allow for dancers young and not so young to take their places.
